Welcome, and thanks for stopping by.

Crafty Goat Coffee was established in 2026 with a simple idea: delivering quality and keeping it simple.

That is pretty much what we are about.

We are a new coffee company, but we are building Crafty Goat for the long term. We want to be the kind of company you can rely on — somewhere you can come back year after year, knowing the coffee will be good, it will arrive when you need it, and if you ever need help, a real person will be here to sort things out.

Really good coffee, without making it complicated

There is an extraordinary amount of choice when it comes to coffee.

We are not entirely convinced that is always helpful.

Most of us just want to find a coffee we really enjoy and know the next bag will be just as good as the last.

So, we keep things deliberately simple.

We carefully choose our coffees, work with an experienced specialist roaster, and get them to you while they are beautifully fresh.

The aim is a delicious cup of coffee that you can look forward to every day — whether it is the first quiet cup of the morning, or coffee around the kitchen table with family and friends.

Coffee should be one of life’s small pleasures. We aim to keep it that way.

And yes, we do subscriptions…

…but we promise not to hold you hostage.

A subscription should make life easier.

So, you are always in control. You can pause it, skip a delivery, change it or cancel it whenever you like.

The idea is simply that your favourite coffee turns up when you need it, without you having to remember to order another bag.

We take care of the coffee. You remain firmly in charge.

The Crafty Goat always delivers

This is one of our mottos. Although it is slightly corny, we like it because it sums up the sort of company we want to be.

Of course, it means getting fresh coffee to your door promptly. It also means doing what we say we will do, offering good value, answering you quickly and sorting things out when something does not go quite according to plan.

We will not pretend we will never make a mistake. We will promise to do our very best to put it right.

For us, good customer service is as important as good coffee.

People — and the planet — matter

There is a long journey behind every cup of coffee.

Long before a bag arrives on your doorstep, somebody has grown the coffee, cared for it, harvested it and helped it on its way.

Ethical and sustainable sourcing matters to us, and we want the journey from coffee plant to coffee cup to benefit the people and places involved.

That feels like a worthwhile goal.

So… why Crafty Goat?

There are two answers to this.

The first is very simple: the domain name was available!

And, although it is a bit odd, we really like goats!

They are clever, resourceful, remarkably sure-footed and occasionally rather stubborn. They are completely at ease where most of us would be hanging on for dear life, and there is something rather appealing about that.

There is another tie-in.

Goats have a surprisingly good claim to a place in the story of coffee.

Legend tells of an Ethiopian goatherd called Kaldi, who noticed that his goats became unusually lively after eating the red berries from a particular plant.

Curious, Kaldi investigated and, according to the legend, those energetic goats helped set in motion the discovery of coffee.

Although merely a legend, it accurately points to the birthplace of coffee, and we rather like the idea that, somewhere, a very long time ago, a crafty goat may have got there first.

Established 2026. And here for the long haul.

We know that “established 2026” does not exactly make us one of Britain’s great historic coffee houses.

Give us time.

What it does mean is that this is where our story started.

We are building Crafty Goat carefully, with the intention of being around for many years to come. We want to earn your trust rather than simply ask for it.

If, somewhere along the way, Crafty Goat becomes the coffee you look forward to each morning, the bag that always seems to arrive at the right time, and the coffee you happily make for friends…

…we will be very pleased indeed.
